Starteens Singing Contest


1. The contest is open to all teens ages 13 to 17 years old within the contest period from March 3 to May 26, 2018.

2. To join the contest, present a minimum single receipt of P300 from any Robinsons Townville mall stores and submit the receipt together with the accomplished application form and a photocopy of birth certificate* (*Original copy must be presented on the day of the elimination and shall be returned immediately after verification) in a sealed envelope at the mall administration office.

3. Registration starts on March 3 until 3pm of the scheduled elimination date per mall stated above.

4. On-the-day registration shall be from 10am to 3pm of the elimination date.

5. A contestant who did not qualify in the elimination round during a particular Robinsons Townville mall may still join the next schedule of screening in other malls where auditions will still be conducted.

6. Pre-registered and on-the-day registrants must get their contestant ID number upon submission of the complete requirements.

7. During the entire contest period: a. Contestants should be accompanied by both or any of the parents. If the contestant will be accompanied by a person other than the parent/s, a written authorization by both or any of the parents should be presented along with a valid government issued Identification Card (ID) of the person and the parent authorizing the guardian. b. Parents/guardian must be responsible for the behavior, safety and welfare of the contestant and their personal belongings.

8. Contestants who qualify to move to the next level of competition shall be required to attend the pre-final studio recording activity on May 5, 2018 to be held at MFore Productions located at Quezon City and the final round on May 26, 2018 to be held at Robinsons Townville Pulilan.

9. Contestants and companions are required to: a. Follow the instructions of the organizers at all times. b. Abide by the rules and regulations of the contest. *Robinsons Townville, its organizers, trainers and instructors shall not be held responsible or liable for any accidents, injuries, harm, loss of property suffered during the contest proper, activities or workshops, resulting from negligence, violation or failure to abide by the above rules.

10. The contestant must prepare one (1) song performance not exceeding five (5) minutes for the elimination round.

11. In the final round, there will be two kinds of performances : a. Individual singing-contestants must prepare one (1) song not exceeding five (5) minutes. b. Duet singing-the two winners per mall shall prepare one (1) song to be sung in duet not exceeding five (5) minutes

12. The contestants shall be judged according to the following set of criteria:

Elimination & Final Round (Individual singing)

VOICE QUALITY 40 PTS.
(Refers to the characteristic features of the singing voice)

TONE & DICTION 30 PTS.
(Refers to the pronunciation of words and singing in tune)

VOCAL EXPRESSION 20 PTS.
(Refers on how the performer is able to express the mood and meaning of
the song)

STAGE IMPACT 10 PTS.
(Refers on how the performer carries himself/herself on the stage and how
he/she commands the audience)

TOTAL 100 PTS.

Final Round (Duet singing)

BLENDING & HARMONY 40 PTS.
(Refers to the harmonious blending of voices of the performers)

VOICE QUALITY, TONE & DICTION 30 PTS.
(Refers to the characteristic features of the performers’ singing voice, pronunciation
of words and singing in tune)

VOCAL EXPRESSION 20 PTS.
(Refers on how the performers are able to express the mood and meaning of the song)

STAGE IMPACT 10 PTS.
(Refers on how the performers carry themselves on the stage and how he/she
commands the audience)

TOTAL 100 PTS.

13. During the elimination per mall will have the following judges: Robinsons Supermarket Store Manager, Handyman Store Manager and an artist representative from Curve Entertainment.

14. Top two (2) contestants with the highest scores during the elimination rounds will be selected and will move on to the final round to be held on May 26, 2018. Each qualifier will receive P3,000 worth of Robinsons gift certificates, while non-winners will be given a giftpack worth P300 each. There will be a total of twelve (12) finalists competing for the Robinsons Star Teens Champion title.

15. During the finals, the judges shall be the following: a. Ma. Jocelyn Bognot – Mall Manager, Robinsons Townville Pulilan b. Mary Grace Gundran – Asst. Marketing Manager, Robinsons Townville Malls c. Mario Joson – Manager, Curve Entertainment

16. A DTI representative will be invited to witness the tabulation of winners during elimination and grand finals round.

17. The top three (3) grand finalists with the highest scores will receive the following prizes:

Star Teens Champion

  • P15,000 worth of Robinsons Gift Certificates & Plaque of Appreciation
  • An exclusive recording and management contract with Curve Entertainment
  • Xtreme Magic Sing Smart Videoke KARAT

1st Runner Up

  • P10,000 worth of Robinsons Gift Certificates & Plaque of Appreciation
  • Xtreme Magic Sing Smart Videoke KARAT

2nd Runner Up

  • P8,000 worth of Robinsons Gift Certificates & Plaque of Appreciation
  • Xtreme Magic Sing Smart Videoke KARAT

Special Award for Best Duo: P10,000 worth of Robinsons Gift Certificates & Plaque of Appreciation

18. For the non-winners in the final round, a consolation prize of P1,000 worth of Robinsons gift certificates will be given.

19. Robinsons Townville malls will shoulder the transportation and food expenses of the twelve (12) grand finalists with one parent/guardian each.

20. Grand Finals and awarding of prizes will be held on May 26, 2018 at Robinsons Townville Pulilan.

21. Judges’ decision is final and shall not be subject to any appeal or complaint with the concurrence of a DTI representative.
